Hopi Blue Dry Field Corn Seed Organic
Our Hopi Blue dry field corn seed is a certified organic heirloom (100 days) and precursors of this strain have been grown for over 800 years on the mesas of northern Arizona! Used by the Hopis to make ceremonial piki bread. These tall 9' plants produce big 8–10" ears with beautiful deep blue kernels that easily grinds into flour. It's very drought-tolerant, with a long taproot. Dick Burnham of Talking Crow Organic Farm in western Massachusetts says it is not just for flour, it is good to eat, “crunchy, corny and wholesome.” 100 seed per pack grows about a 25 ft row.
