These New Red Fire Leaf lettuce seeds are certified organic and open pollinated. (51 days) Red Fire is gaining popularity with market growers. Beautiful, frilly red-edged leaves with a fresh bright green base and interior form a heavy head that makes attractive, tender salads. This popular variety has set the standard for red leaf lettuce for many years. It can be grown spring, summer, and fall for full-size heads or baby leaf salads. Red Fire is relatively slow but produces uniform, heavy heads of well-colored, frilly leaves. This lettuce has been almost the last to flower, sometimes lasting as late as July 29 in northern regions. It's also very cold-hardy and does well through most of the winter in tunnels in northern regions. Its tender and sweet flavor have very little to no bitterness. Resists BOR, DM, TB. About 300+ seed per pack.
